Hi, I’m Helena and I am a mum, interior designer and owner of Helena Nikola Interior Studio and Home Done Differently.

I have spent the last 15 years of my career working one-on-one with families who are building or renovating to create the home of their dreams. While I’m still working on large renovation projects with my one-on-one clients, as my daughter grows I decided to shift my focus so that I could work with more families to create their dream homes and spend more quality time to be with my family, and Home Done Differently was born.

Home Done Differently is the new way to work with an interior designer.

Working with an interior designer is the BEST way to achieve the home of your dreams, and yet most people leave their interior design decisions to their Builder, Architect, or Building Designer. You wouldn’t give your tax over to your physio, so why would you trust anyone other than an interior designer with the interior of your home?

Cost? Time? Misaligned styles? Maybe not. I’m here to dispel the myths that working with an interior designer is out of reach and expensive. The reality is that working with an interior designer is more than just creating pretty spaces, it’s about collaborating with a professional to elevate your home from just another carbon copy of a home that everyone else has, to a carefully curated home that perfectly fits your family now and into the future.

And this is what Home Done Differently does. Working in a small group, across 8 weeks of live calls (via Zoom), pre-recorded training videos, and .pdf training guides I help families that are renovating or building transform their ideas into a solid vision and a dream home worthy of the pages of your favorite magazine.

I guide you through all areas of interior design for your home including your vision, planning, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, laundries, lighting, and finishes. At the end of the 8 weeks, your decisions are made, product and finish selections locked in, and you’ll move forward with your builder knowing that should a situation arise you’ve got the tools to help you keep on top of things.

Not for the faint-hearted, or those that want a quick DIY solution. Home Done Differently is for you if you’re ready to step outside the box and dare to be different.
